USC-STC Establishes COVID-19 Committee

Unmanned Systems Canada/Systèmes Télécommandés Canada (USC-STC) is closely monitoring the COVID-19 coronavirus situation and wishes to assure our members and  all those who are planning to participate in and sponsor our upcoming events that your health and safety are a top priority for USC-STC.

Because of that, Unmanned Systems Canada has set up a COVID-19 Committee to coordinate the Association’s planning and response to all upcoming events in our 2020 calendar – including our annual fall conference and exhibition.

Our committee is at work formulating and carrying out steps to mitigate the risks posed by COVID-19 to any Unmanned Systems Canada activities. Specifically, the Committee has been examining – and will continue to examine – risk mitigation strategies with respect to any activities involving our organization, members and the public who attend our events.

Any decisions to alter, delay, suspend or cancel any USC-STC events will be made by the COVID-19 Committee based on evolving Public Health guidance and Best Practices and will be communicated to stakeholders as decisions are made.

Our present plan is to proceed with our annual conference and exhibition (UC20Calgary), as scheduled for November 3 – 5, 2020.

USC-STC is sensitive to attendees’ concerns and will be doing everything possible to ensure our conference is safe for all attending. Unmanned Systems Canada/Systèmes Télécommandés Canada will continue to integrate recommendations from federal, provincial and municipal health authorities into our conference planning and implement all recommended measures.

This is, as you are aware, an evolving situation. If our assessment changes we will promptly update this statement and inform our members and stakeholders.

On behalf of Unmanned Systems Canada/Systèmes Télécommandés Canada, we wish you continued health and prosperity during these unusual times.
