Increasing Inclusion and Diversity in Canada’s Unmanned Systems Sector

USC is committed to increase inclusion and diversity in our rapidly growing sector!

As a member of Unmanned Systems Canada’s volunteer Board of Directors, I’m excited to announce that we’ve got some ‘innovative ideas’ to increase Indigenous participation at the 16th Annual Unmanned Canada Conference and Trade Show coming to Vancouver and the traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Innovating Canada – By Air, Land and Sea’ and we’re expecting over 400 delegates, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors to join us at the Westin Bayshore for a busy three days of workshops, networking opportunities and B2B meetings.

I’m honoured to have support from our Board and the #UC18Vancouver Conference Committee to develop new initiatives that will increase Indigenous participation at this year’s event:

The ‘Indigenous Innovators Panel’

Contact me if you any Indigenous drone operators, businesses, students, researchers, joint ventures or government departments using unmanned technologies to do #GoodDroneWork!

Three presenters get the chance to share their work, research projects, #STEM initiatives and best practices on a panel that I’m coordinating…so have them contact me as soon as possible!

Diversity and Inclusion Sponsorship Opportunities

USC has developed two new sponsorship packages for socially-responsible businesses, economic development agencies, and government groups who want to support Indigenous participants to attend UC18Vancouver.

The ‘Diversity and Inclusion Sponsorship Package’ provides Indigenous delegates with a full conference pass, a one-year membership to USC, accommodations at our host hotel (The Westin Bayshore) and up to $1000 towards transportation costs. The sponsor also receives a full delegate pass to ‘pay forward’ or use themselves to join us at UC18Vancouver!

EVERYONE will benefit from marketing support I’ll provide: announcements in USC News, sponsor recognition on our website and on-site at the conference, PR and media releases, social media posts during UC18Vancouver, and a post-event report that summarizes the experiences – and results – of our initiative.

Please share this news with Indigenous Innovators and potential sponsors. I’ve added some conference and membership links belo,  but you can contact me directly for more info by email: [email protected] or private message on LinkedIn.

I hope to see many of you in Vancouver this October – and thanks for supporting Indigenous Innovators!

In honour and respect,

Kristin Kozuback, Board of Directors, USC
