Meet USC’s New Executive Director, Glenn Martin

Introducing Glenn Martin (BComm, CAE) Executive Director, Unmanned Systems Canada

Unmanned Systems Canada Chairman of the Board Mark Aruja announced that effective January 1st, 2018, Ms. Glenn Martin (B.Comm., CAE) will be the new Executive Director for USC, the national association representing Canada’s rapidly growing aerial, land and marine unmanned vehicle industry.

Glenn brings USC a long history of industry association leadership with 8 years as CEO for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of BC (ACECBC) and past Manager, Member & Public Affairs for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC, which serves over 25,000 members.

Since moving back to her hometown of Ottawa, Ontario in February 2013 to be closer to her growing family, Glenn worked for Engineers Canada and a national charity representing the interests of hard of hearing Canadians.

Glenn started her career path as aRegistered Nurse (RN), then transitioned into the private sector working for a senior federal cabinet minister and launching her own business in international trade providing marketing and communications consulting services.

Always dedicated to her community, Glenn has held volunteer positions with the Board of Directors for the Recreational Association of the Public Service of Canada, the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) Ottawa-Gatineau,  CSAE-BC and  St. Patrick’s School Board of Directors. 

Glenn received her Bachelor of Commerce degree in International Business from the University of  Victoria. As part of her program, Glenn studied Japanese and travelled to South East Asia to gain international cultural and business experiences.  These travels included six weeks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia working for Scotiabank on a retail marketing development project.

To improve her knowledge of association management, Glenn earned a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.

Glenn and her husband of 43 years, Chris, reside in Britannia Beach in a funky, completely renovated 100-year old cottage.
