Pip Rudkin was a key member of Unmanned Systems Canada and its predecessor associations for many years. His contributions to the association were numerous and his efforts were tireless. His leadership of the organization as its chairman led the the transition through and amalgamation between UVS Canada – AUVSI Canada, which was perhaps one of his most significant contributions.
Above all, Pip was a visionary whose legacy remains as part of the foundation of our vibrant and growing association. He will be remembered as a leader, colleague, mentor and friend to so many.
We were all saddened by his passing in March of 2015 after his long battle with cancer. The Board and Executive Committee of Unmanned Systems Canada have reflected long and hard on Pip’s influence on our organization and have decided that his individual contributions need to be recognized in a formal fashion. A ceremony recalling Pip’s contributions was held at the USC-STC Annual Conference and Trade Show in Halifax in 2015, and our organization’s Individual Achievement Award was renamed in his honour.
To this end, the Pip Rudkin Individual Achievement Awards was created.
Nominations for the annual award are announced each summer and winners are recognized each year at the USC-STC Annual National Conference and Trade Show.
Nominate candidates for the 2019 Pip Rudkin Individual Achievement Awards by 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2019 using this nomination form or by email to awards@unmannedystems.ca
