Two Canadian Teams Win @ AUVSI Competition

Congratulations to the ETS Dronolab team from Montreal’s ÉTS – École de Technologie Supérieure. It placed FIRST at the AUVSI student competition this month, which had 75 global entries, of which 47 competed.

Dronolab also placed First at this year’s earlier USC-STC Student UAS Competition, an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the talent and dedication of the team.

“We are immensely proud of our student teams, our future industry leaders. Our UAS competition – now joined by a UGV competition – is world-class,” says Mark Aruja, Chairman of USC-STC.

Not only do such competitions spur innovation and collaboration, they also give many students an advantage in finding employment.

“Prospective employers look for this extra effort in resumes. Judging by the number of our former students we see in the industry today, these efforts are being rewarded.”

Team VAMUdeS from the Université de Sherbrooke also made it into the top five at the AUVSI competition – incredible!

“These student competitions provide a remarkable opportunity for students to learn beyond the classroom, from their competitors and the judges,” adds Glenn Martin, the Executive Director of USC-STC.

“Life long lessons will continue to inspire them as they use their skills for future innovations.” Members of Dronolab who traveled to the AUVSI event are pictured below.

Well done!
