Transport Canada is holding a National Drone Safety Awareness Day-Nov. 13, 2020
TC’s Drone Safety Day is aimed at educating the public about safe drone practices and highlighting the interesting and innovative ways drones are being used across Canada. As a valued member of the industry, we would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in this exciting and collaborative initiative. Transport Canada would greatly appreciate your help in promoting Drone Safety Day and celebrating with Canadians across the country.

Tell us what drone safety means to you:
On November 13, share a photo, post, or story to your social media platforms of your drone safety success stories with the hashtag #DroneSafetyDay. A drone success story can be anything that demonstrates how you use drones in your organization, why drones are a useful technology, or how you ensure drone safety in your operations. Alternatively, you can also add Drone Safety Day content to your website, blogs, or emails.
Encourage your stakeholders to attend our Twitter Chat:
TC will be hosting a Drone Safety Day Twitter Chat on November 13 at 1pm (EST). The Twitter Chat is an opportunity for drone pilots and the general public to pose questions live and in real time to a group of Drone Experts. Please encourage your stakeholders to attend the Chat, and encourage them to follow TC on Twitter for more information: https://twitter.com/Transport_gc.

As part of Drone Safety Day, Transport Canada produced a pre-recorded webinar series aimed at providing an overview of drone safety basics and showcasing unique Canadian drone use-cases by interviewing various industry partners and first responders organizations. The videos will be made available on our Drone Safety website on November 13: https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/drone-safety. We encourage you to check out the series, and encourage your stakeholders to do the same! Our webinar partners include Unmanned Systems Canada, Drone Delivery Canada, Bell Textron Canada, Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
