If you’re in the RPAS industry, you’ve not doubt been keeping tabs on the world of Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), also known as Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (RTM).
Whether you call it UTM or RTM, it’s important. The eventual end product will safely integrate manned and unmanned aircraft in Canadian airspace with features like tracking, remote ID and conflict resolution.
On May 15, Transport Canada issued a Call for Proposals “from innovators that will help set the requirements for, and the deployment of services needed for Canada’s RTM system.”
Expressions of interest are open now, and will be accepted until 1700 Pacific Time on June 7, 2020.
