NPA for Simplified BVLOS Operations issued by Transport Canada

BREAKING

CARAC has issued a new NPA, or Notice of Proposed Amendment, from Transport Canada. There is a 60 day comment period, ending June 22.

Here are the details:

Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) – Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, Lower-Risk Beyond Visual Line-of Sight

Through this Notice of Proposed Amendment, Transport Canada is looking for industry feedback and insight on the proposed approach, which is designed to be performance- and risk-based.

The objective of these proposed amendments, as introduced in this NPA, is to enable routine lower-risk Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight RPAS operations in Canada without requiring a Special Flight Operation Certificate (SFOC).

We would appreciate your comments in writing to TC.RPASRegulations-ReglementsSATP.TC@tc.gc.ca no later than Monday, June 22, 2020.

Sincerely,

Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council

Transport Canada / Government of Canada
